Green Cert Level 5 and 6 - Blended Course

Standalone or Part of Major Award

"Green Cert" is the everyday name for completing both of these nationally recognised QQI awards: Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture (5M20454) — 120 credits of foundation: livestock, crops, soils, safety, business and a work placement. Level 6 Certificate in Farming (6S20487) — 50 credits of management: business planning, performance measurement, sustainability and a second placement. Together they make you a "qualified farmer" in the sense used by farm succession schemes, tax reliefs and young-farmer supports. Whoever delivers the training, the awards come from the same national body: QQI.

Single modules are the best way to build your path to becoming fully certified and
get recognised by NFQ education point scheme.

This course is for four groups mainly: farm successors getting qualified before a transfer; working farmers formalising what they already know; career-changers and returners coming into agriculture; and farm employees stepping up toward management. Most learners have a full-time job, a farm, or both — the course is built that way on purpose.

The Green Cert means completing both QQI awards below. We run them as one joined-up pathway, so you never fall into the gap between Level 5 and Level 6.
