What is this programme?

These two QQI Level 5 supplementary qualifications — Care Skills (5N2770) and Care of the Older Person (5N2706) — provide you with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to work as a healthcare assistant in home care and community services.

Delivered in a 12-week blended online format, you'll join a small group of learners for live weekly Zoom sessions with your trainer every evening. Between sessions, you'll access course content through our easy-to-use LMS platform at times that suit you.

Completing these modules is a recognised pathway towards the QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support and meets HSE Minimum Requirements for home care roles.

Completing Care Skills and Care of the Older Person helps you meet the HSE Minimum Qualification Requirement for home care assistants in Ireland. These two modules are among the most requested qualifications by home care employers and private healthcare agencies.
