What are the entry requirements?
You'll need a QQI Level 4 Certificate, National Vocational Certificate (Level 4), Leaving Certificate, or equivalent qualification — or relevant life and work experience detailed in a current CV. You must be a resident of, or based in, Ireland. Recognition of Prior Learning is also considered.
How is the course graded?
Modules are graded Pass (50–64%), Merit (65–70%), or Distinction (80–100%). Assessment methods vary by module and typically combine assignments, projects, portfolios and skills demonstrations.
What delivery methods are available?
Two options: Self-Paced (start today, 1-to-1 trainer support via Zoom) or Blended (group learning online over 7 weeks per module).
Can I use previous experience or qualifications (RPL)?
Yes. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows you to use existing skills, work experience, or earlier qualifications toward entry or exemptions. Contact us at hello@forustraining.ie to discuss how RPL may apply to you.
What if I can't complete my course due to circumstances beyond my control?
Our Compassionate Consideration policy provides an exit pathway for learners unable to complete their assessment through no fault of their own — for example due to bereavement, illness, pregnancy, relocation, or other extenuating circumstances — including the opportunity to complete the award at an alternative date or location.
Where can I progress to after this award?
You can progress to related Level 6 certificates such as Social and Vocational Integration, Information, Advice and Advocacy, or Community Development — or use this award as a stepping stone toward Healthcare and Social Care degree programmes via the CAO. Always check current entry requirements directly with the CAO and your chosen higher education provider.
