What is this programme?

The People Moving and Handling Programme is designed to ensure the safety of everyone involved in moving people in health and social care environments. It covers the legal responsibilities of employers and employees, best practice in safe mobilisation, and practical skills in hazard identification and risk assessment.

Delivered in a blended format, participants complete an online component (2.5–3.5 hours) through our LMS platform in advance of the training day. The practical component then takes place at the Forus Training office in Mullingar, running 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, with assessment completed on the day.

This programme is suitable for anyone working in a health or social care setting, or those looking to enter the sector. The course runs six times per year, giving you flexibility to join at the right time for you.
