You’ll learn how to assist them in a range of activities, ensuring equality of opportunity through working in a safe and professional manner.  The course content also includes understanding the role of the SNA, working effectively with stakeholders and an exploration of legal and ethical considerations. You will be able to reflect on your personal practice working with children, their parents or guardians and colleagues, ensuring that children’s individuality is promoted and that their needs are met. 

 

Assessment:

Evaluation in the Level 5 SNA course involves a mix of assessment methods, including written assignments, practical skills demonstration and personal performance reflection. Assessment methods combine a Skills Demonstration (60%) and Learner Records (40%).

 

Certification:

Successful completion of the course results in the award of a QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland) Level 5 Component Certificate, a nationally recognised qualification which qualifies you to work as an SNA in a primary or secondary school setting.
