About the SNA Level 5 course

A QQI-accredited introduction to working as a Special Needs Assistant in Irish schools.

This QQI Level 5 Special Needs Assisting course (5N1786) gives you the qualification required to pursue a career as an SNA in primary and secondary schools. You'll learn about the different types of additional needs and disabilities children may have, the legislation that protects and supports them, and the practical skills needed to assist in a classroom setting.

This course is available in two online formats. Self-Paced (Online Anytime) — study in your own time, with 1:1 trainer support via Zoom and 3 scheduled check-in sessions, so you can fit learning around work, family and other commitments. Live & Online (Evening Zoom Classes) — follow a structured 7-week programme with a trainer-led group, attending scheduled evening sessions via Zoom. Both options include LMS access, coursework feedback, and discussion board support.
